SAN MIGUEL DE ARALAR SANCTUARY
Visit the San Miguel de Aralar Sanctuary, a Romanesque masterpiece with over one thousand years of history, a place of legends and one of the best known spiritual centres in Navarre. You can reach San Miguel de Aralar from Lekunberri, and there you can enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view. Its legend and past are reflected in the surrounding beech forests.
PLAZAOLA RAIL TRAIL
Walk along the former railway line that connected Pamplona to San Sebastián, a beautiful route through magnificent landscapes, ideal on foot or by bike, covering a total of 54 km among forests and meadows. A highly accessible transit trail starting in Lekunberri, where there is a small rail car. You will come across beautiful scenery along the way, making this route all the more pleasant.

CARNIVAL CELEBRATIONS
Navarre’s very first carnival is held in this area on the Saturday before the official carnival. These traditional celebrations include zanpantzar parades and feature numerous mythological characters that are then burned on a bonfire. Lekunberri celebrates its Patron Saint Festivities, in honour of Our Lady of Pilar, in the month of September.
LOS DÓLMENES HIKING TRAIL
Trail with uneven areas, bare rock, beech forests, meadows, etc., on which you can visit 44 dolmens and a menhir. Routes are conveniently signposted, and you can enjoy different hiking trails of varying levels of difficulty. The nearest to Lekunberri is a circular trail with ten dolmens among oak and beech forests.
